Saudi Arabia's Health Minister Fahd Al-Jalajel expressed gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their praise of the Health Sector Transformation Program during the recent Cabinet session. The commendation came after a report on the program's achievements in 2023, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, was presented.
Al-Jalajel emphasized the program's significant advancements in providing top-tier health services, as guided by the country's leadership. Notable accomplishments include establishing the Saudi National Institute of Health and launching health clusters throughout the Kingdom, which have played crucial roles in enhancing healthcare delivery and infrastructure.
The report also highlighted advancements in digital health services, such as the NPHIES platform developed by the Cooperative Health Insurance Council and the expansion of virtual health services. These innovations have improved the sector's capabilities, leading to better health indicators and increasing the average life expectancy in the Kingdom to 77.6 years, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
As chairman of the Health Sector Transformation Program committee, Al-Jalajel credited the program's success to a strong focus on community health, the integration of the health sector with related areas, and robust preventive health measures. These efforts have collectively contributed to a healthier nation, reflecting the program's commitment to improving the quality of life for all Saudi citizens.
