In the stunning, rugged landscape of Abu Dhabi's Empty Quarter, Dior launched Chapter Two of its Diorigami high jewelry collection. Defying Dubai’s oft-repeated sentiment that the UAE lacks natural beauty, Dior’s event at Qasr Al Sarab proved otherwise, highlighting the desert’s raw allure. Guests embarked on a scenic, four-hour journey from Dubai, witnessing the transition from white dunes to towering red sand formations reminiscent of Tatooine and Arrakis.
Over four days, Dior gathered clients, brand friends, and the press for an unforgettable experience that blended haute luxury with nature. The event kicked off with an exquisite dinner set to live orchestral music, followed by a Dior-themed takeover of the resort’s pool area. Draped in green toile de jouy, the poolside setup created a striking visual echo of Dior’s elegance.
The jewelry itself, displayed in the royal pavilion, dazzled in natural light. Diorigami’s second chapter, designed by Victoire de Castellane, evolved the collection’s enchanting flora and fauna themes with whimsical, nature-inspired pieces. Guests marveled at a diamond-encrusted necklace featuring foxes, owls, and squirrels nestled among sapphire leaves, as well as a swan crafted from mother-of-pearl and diamonds. The collection also featured angular, origami-inspired designs, with each piece meticulously sculpted to reflect Dior’s commitment to detail and artistry.
One highlight was a tour led by a master jeweler, who revealed the extensive craftsmanship behind each piece. From initial wax carving to the final gemstone placement, a single Diorigami piece can take over 1,000 hours to complete, a testament to Dior’s dedication to precision.
Through this enchanting display, Dior’s Chapter Two launch of Diorigami celebrated not just high jewelry but also the transformative beauty of nature and creativity, set against the breathtaking UAE desert landscape.
