The first-ever Forbes Middle East Medical Tourism and Wellness Summit, powered by American Hospital, opened in Dubai, uniting experts from healthcare, travel, and fitness industries to discuss innovations and challenges in medical tourism and wellness.
Prominent attendees included H.E. Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation; Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of the Health Regulation Sector at Dubai Health Authority; and Hoor Al Khaja, Senior Vice President of International Operations at Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism. The event also welcomed H.E. Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, H.E. Dr. Farida Al Hosani, Sherif Beshara, and leading executives from Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City and Fakeeh University Hospital.
The summit began with invigorating activities like yoga and meditation, setting a vibrant tone for discussions on mental health, nutrition, and the rise of wellness tourism. Panelists highlighted Dubai’s strategy to merge world-class healthcare with luxury travel, strengthening its position as a global wellness destination.

At the Doctors’ Corner, experts presented advancements in robotic surgery, digital dentistry, and breast care. Meanwhile, the ‘Serene Stage’ unveiled cutting-edge technologies combining sound and innovation for personalized health solutions.
Engaging Community and Wellness Experiences
Participants engaged in Dubai Fitness Challenge activities, enjoying cycling, boxing, yoga, and inner child healing workshops. The Wellness Area and Healing Hub provided unique experiences like tea meditation, bio-resonance alignment, latte art, and hand-pan music circles. Workshops like Aurora 50’s Women Empowerment session fostered community and inclusivity.
Khuloud Al Omian, CEO of Forbes Middle East, emphasized the event’s collaborative spirit, aiming to tackle medical tourism challenges while shaping a health-focused future. Sherif Beshara underscored Dubai’s success in becoming a top medical tourism destination through strong public-private partnerships.
