As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, Cartier has officially announced the next chapter of its groundbreaking Women’s Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Japanese government and Expo organizers, continues the legacy of the Women’s Pavilion first introduced at Expo 2020 Dubai, reaffirming Cartier’s commitment to gender equality and social progress.

A Legacy of Empowerment: From Dubai to Osaka

At Expo 2020 Dubai, the Women’s Pavilion made history as the first dedicated space for women’s empowerment at a World Expo in over a century. The pavilion served as a platform for thought-provoking discussions, immersive storytelling, and artistic expressions that highlighted women’s contributions across cultures, industries, and generations. Now, the evolution of this initiative at Expo 2025 Osaka promises an even greater impact.

With the theme “Living Together, Designing Together, For the Future,” the Osaka Women’s Pavilion will move beyond gender equality, exploring the deeper interconnectedness of humanity and our shared responsibility toward the planet.

A Visionary Design for a Sustainable Future

Renowned architect Yuko Nagayama has reimagined the Pavilion’s signature Kumiko-inspired façade, originally introduced in Dubai, symbolizing a bridge between tradition and innovation. Sustainability remains a cornerstone of the project, with locally sourced trees set to return to Osaka’s forests post-Expo, reinforcing a commitment to environmental regeneration and renewal.

Inside the Pavilion, an immersive experience curated by Es Devlin will guide visitors through powerful personal narratives showcasing the universal fight for gender equality. Contributions from acclaimed artists Naomi Kawase, Mélanie Laurent, and Mariko Mori will bring this vision to life through film, sculpture, and interactive installations.

The WA Space, an agora of ideas, will serve as a hub for discussions on business, education, technology, and the arts, fostering actionable change through engaging conversations.

A Call to Action: When Women Thrive, the World Thrives

Rooted in a legacy of dialogue, innovation, and empowerment, Cartier’s Women’s Pavilion at Expo 2025 aims to inspire, engage, and catalyze change. This pavilion is not just a celebration—it is a call to action. Because when women thrive, everyone thrives.
